Lao Tzu, a great Chinese Sage who lived in the 6th century B.C., wrote:
There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
What do these good words happiness related mean?
Since the dawn of time, everywhere around the world, Man has only been looking for one thing: being Happy!
Quite often, people think they can obtain it, that there is a magical recipe or secret formula that could be used to cause happiness to finally happen, as if by magic.
Well, that’s not the case. It does not work this way! And that’s what Lao Tzu teaches us with this sentence. He tells us that being happy is not to be found in the final destination but in the path followed in life.
A simple example will illustrate his words:
When you have children, you want to see them succeed in life. You would like them to be physicians or lawyers… Some parents focus so much on this goal that they forget to watch them live, evolve, and grow.
Instead of spending moments together on a daily basis, they fast forward to the future, thinking positive will await at the end of the road. Yet, it is not to be found in the future but in the present, in each precious moment life throws your way. In other words, just keep it simple!
This is what Lao Tzu meant to say.
